Designed for those young ones that are eager to leave the nest, but created for those parents that demand the safest products in the world. Haste was created to focus on the 'cool kid' skateboard hard-shell helmet with a twist. A very feature forward product - the Haste creates a product that not only focuses on a fashion forward approach to helmet design, but also incorporates our proprietary Wavecel technology. The combination of a hard shell and wavecel inserts means this helmet performs better than any other helmet currently in production for a child head. The color pop and fashion forward colorways means no matter the season or style; your little one will be safe and hip.

The most protection

A lowered drip-line and increased rear coverage means your noggin is safe in almost any accident. On a kick bike, or if your little ripper has just taken their training wheels off - they're in safe hands.

Kid approved

When it comes to goats or your children, you want to make sure they grow up big and strong. The user interaction of a child is much different than an adult; and this helmet accounts for an adapted fit-system as well as soft touch interaction on critical surfaces

WHO WHAT WHERE WHEN

Protect the young cyclist in your life with the Jet helmet, featuring a built-in visor and easy-to-use magnetic buckle. Perfect for little ones riding in a trailer, a child carrier, or all on their own. Knowing parents control the wallet - we were designing for multiple end users. The parent, who is purchasing the helmet - and will only purchase the best for their little ones. And the child - who will need to live in the helmet every day when they ride. We focused on creating an environment for the child that is safe and covered in soft pad - while reducing cost as much as possible for this low cost helmet.

THE CUSTOMER

Focusing on toddler / youth / child head sizes, we developed the Jet on a new shape that was focused on child head dimensions. The Jet was designed to be a EPS / ABS helmet for weight reduction - but also to create a helmet that could survive a drop of a child throwing the helmet. Its full ABS coverage makes the foam fully protected and developed for comfort. The fidlock buckle was developed and used to create a safe, non pinch situation if a parent is putting on the helmet or if the child is feeling adventurous to go on their own.

Construction

The Haste utilized a new construction method for Bontrager. The use of a hard-shell not only effected and drove the aesthetic of the helmet but it also played a major part in testing. The development process of a hard-shell was unique in that it uses hardened steel tooling due to the high injection pressures for the ABS hard-shell. This means going into tooling, we had to be spot of with the design and manufacturing requirements. The introduction of the soft touch rim means we had to co-mold the EPS and insert, this is not an easy task and we used some unique tooling approaches to get the desired undercuts in the tools.
