OVERVIEW
BRIEF
Trek's Project one process is one of the most refined in the industry. Data shows that custom paint programs are developing to suit a users increasing demand to become personalized and custom. If a user can have the creativity to personalize a bike, that opens the door to develop a customization program from a one off shoe - to a full team order that is fully automated with a manufacture and interfacing on a custom application to design a one of a kind product. The task was to show that Bontrager can not only keep up with the demand and build in P1's footsteps, but also to show that the level of customization can be expanded beyond just a paint or logo. Full customization can be daunting - but working with a logic based interface and development program, Bontrager shoes are now only limited by a users creativity.

Custom to you
Custom color and logo creation means working directly with our vendors in Asia to produce samples that are one off in a massive supply chain effort. Focusing on color consistency and matching materials, to developing consistent quality and design standards.

Developing customer base
Indoor cycling is massive - but developing a platform with the opportunity to bring users into the sport of cycling - Indoor cycling is a massive opportunity and I worked on developing a narrative to direct initial custom shoes to that user to personalize spin classes.

OCLV Carbon
Moving material identiry across products is huge - With the new XXX we pushed the OCLV carbon name across from when wheel and bike groups to identify deeper with our brand and passion for development.

SOLE PLATE DEVELOPMENT
The shoe design process at Trek is heavily dependent on sending flats to the developer to create 3D form. With the introduction of Rhino into the cad package I was able to leverage the new software to quickly develop CAD designs that were sent to the vendor saving countless hours. This development process not only brought the design of our sole plates in house - but ensured proper fit and function with our last and templates.

Bottom Image - A development screenshot of a road sole that i developed and used as a centerpiece for graphic / ID reviews that were approved my upper management. This also allowed us to develop a new process for sole design in house at Trek.

BONTAGER CUSTOM PROGRAM
Content was created and used to develop a concept that was pitched to the CEO and Head of Design at Trek. This pitch deck showed benchmarking companies such as Nike ID, Adidas, and a few smaller brands that are now offering custom shoe programs that allow users to fully customize their shoes for a fully one-off experience. This not only adds to the presence of Bontrager in our overseas vendors ( which would allow us more exclusive time with their development teams ) but also to grow the brand as a presence in the shoe industry within cycling - Offering one off shoes, or limited run concepts for teams / clubs. The following content was created to show ' what could be ' the Custom Shoe Program - this concept is currently being developed by design / manufacturing / supply chain groups.
